I'd start by asking do you want a good story or do you want more fun game play? If you want a good story start from the beginning. If you want more fun I'd suggest starting with either Black Flag (if you're into pirates) or Origins because that and Odyssey are probably the best game play wise. Also a good idea is if you're interested in a specific time period (like the Renaissance) then play that game first since you'll probably like the setting. Hope that helps!
